Two new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Queensland.

An 81-year-old man is in a stable condition in Sunshine Coast University Hospital after testing positive for the respiratory illness. He had recently returned from Thailand.

A 29-year-old woman from Brisbane who also test positive for the disease is now well and is isolated. She had recently travelled from London with a stopover in Singapore.

Authorities are now conducting contact tracing for both of them.

A total of 13 people in Queensland have now been confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

A 20-year-old Chinese student remains in isolation in a stable condition at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital after returning to Brisbane from China via Dubai.

His housemate been cleared but will still self-isolate for 14 days as a precaution.

A 26-year-old Logan man became the state's 11th confirmed case yesterday after returning to Brisbane from Iran

He is in isolation in a stable condition at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He was already unwell when he boarded the plane in Iran, bound for Brisbane, and officials are working to track down passengers seated near him.

A 63-year-old woman with the virus remains in isolation, in the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The other eight patients have recovered, and have been cleared and discharged from hospital.
