Woman dies after being found on fire on street at Rye

She was discovered by a passer-by, who tried to extinguish the flames, near the intersection of Peter and Betty streets.

Emergency services were called about 7:15am but the woman died at the scene.

Police said her identity was not yet known.

They are still trying to determine the exact circumstances around the death, but said they were not treating it as suspicious.
