Euthanasia laws come into effect in Victoria on Wednesday

Australia's first voluntary assisted dying laws come into effect this week in Victoria. If a terminally ill person meets the eligibility guidelines, a doctor will prescribe them a lethal drug they'll take themselves. Authorities won't say exactly what the drug is, but it will put the patient to sleep in minutes causing death in about an hour.
