Ninth meningoccoal disease case this year

A fifteen-year-old Launceston boy is the second Tasmanian to be struck down with meningococcal disease this week, and the ninth case this year. The boy is in a stable condition in the Launceston general hospital after contracting the b-strain of the potentially fatal disease. It's the third case of B-strain detected this year, including a 4-year-old Devonport girl who was hospitalised earlier this week.
