Peats is isolating in the Gold Coast with his family, and explained to Brad Fittler how his ordeal began after his attempt to make Poke Balls at home went all wrong.

"Honestly it's been a bad few days," Peats told Wide World of Sports' Freddy's Facetime.

"Here's what we think it was: we had salmon on Saturday night and I think I left it out too long before I put it back in the fridge because we were making Poke balls.

"Then on Sunday arvo, I've used the same salmon again and had it and then Sunday night hot-cold flashes hit me and I thought, 'I've got coronavirus'.

"I thought I was gone, my stomach was aching. All of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it's been a long three days and then yesterday I came good.

"I reckon I've lost a couple of kilos. I've actually found two abs that I didn't think I had.

"It was probably the worst thing to get with having two young kids at home and being stuck at home doing nothing is a bit tough but I've overcome it now."
