Perrottet "very, very confident" with state's debt position

June 18, 20179. NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet speaks to reporters in Sydney after delivering his third budget. Mr Perrottet says the budget is “strongly in surplus”. “We have average surpluses of $1.7 billion over the forward estimates… we sit here on the back of funding every one of our election commitments strongly in surplus and building record amounts of infrastructure,” Mr Perrottet says. “We are handing down today for the fourth time a negative net debt position… I am very very confident with the current debt position here in NSW.” The surplus for 2018/19 will be behind the $846 million predicted in the coalition government's March pre-election budget update and the $1.4 billion surplus forecast last year.
