Lego Technic's Latest Masterpiece Is the Ferrari 488 GTE AF Corse
Lego announced yesterdayh a new championship-winning addition to its lineup of advanced "Technic" model kits, designed for builders aged 18 and older. Early next year, you'll soon be able to assemble your very own AF Corse-run Ferrari 488 GTE, modeled after the car that won this year's GTE class in the World Endurance Championship.
Lego's AF Corse Ferrari measures 19 inches long, and takes a total of 1677 pieces to build. There are moving pistons inside the mid-mounted V-8 engine, and a turnable steering wheel for even more realism. The tri-color red, white, and red livery is present, as are the sponsor sticker and matching No. 51 race number.
This is the first Technic model to be designed in collaboration with Ferrari, according to Lego. It joins other Technic-branded supercars such as the Bugatti Chiron and the recently-unveiled McLaren Senna GTR in the company's buildable car model lineup.
The Technic Ferrari 488 GTE AF Corse will go on sale starting January 21, 2021 on Lego.com and through worldwide retailers, with a starting price of $169.99.
