The annual SEMA show in Las Vegas every year attracts some of the finest car builders from all over the country as they show off their latest builds and vie for the coveted Battle of the Builders title. This year marks the fifth annual for Battle of the Builders, and nearly 300 entries were considered for this highly competitive contest. The competition was expanded this year to recognize winners in each of the four different categories: Hot Rod, Truck/Off-Road, Sport Compact and Young Guns, and three from each category were selected to round out the top 12 by industry judges David Freiburger of Roadkill, Fred Williams of Dirt Every Day, and RJ DeVera from Meguiar's.

Once the judges narrowed the massive selection of cars down to the top 12, it was up to the builders to vote for the winners of the different categories as well as the overall winner of the competition. Kyle Tucker was voted winner in the Hot Rod class with his sleek 1969 Camaro, Eddie Pettus took the Truck class with a 1932 Willys Aircraft Refueling Truck, Rod Neilsen won the Sport Compact class with a wild 1972 Mazda R100, and Kyle Kuhnhausen was chosen for the Young Gun class with his 1972 Datsun 240Z. After all the votes were tallied, it was Kyle Tucker who took home top honors with the incredibly sleek and classy 1969 Camaro known as "TUX" that has won many awards this year including making it into the Great 8 at the Detroit Autorama.

The competition brought some of the finest builds from 2018 and we got photos of all the cars in the top 12, so take a look through this gallery to see why these cars were picked as the best of the best at the 2018 SEMA Battle of the Builders!
