Well, here's one thing Tarek El Moussa and Kim Kardashian West have in common-because surely, that's something you've considered-they've both taken on one trendy beautifying treatment. At the goading of his ex-wife, Christina, Tarek recently got a vampire facial, posting about the experience on Instagram.

And for anyone who's unfamiliar with the treatment, it can be a shocking sight to see. The facial involves drawing blood from a vein in your arm, which is then run through a centrifuge to extract the platelets, according to Allure. Then, microdermabrasion or microneedling-AKA a roller uses tiny needles to gently prick your skin all over-is applied to your face, before they slather on the platelet-rich plasma. The idea is that it can help give your skin "an even tone and fresher appearance," as well as help with premature wrinkles and solar damage, California-based dermatologist Ava Shamban told the magazine.

Tarek shared a photo of his plasma-covered face-alongside the couple's daughter, Taylor-explaining what went down. Turns out, it all started on a dare.

"I was like, 'a facial with face cream, relaxing music, hot towel? Sure, sign me up!'" he wrote in the caption. "Well, FOLKS...I had no idea what I agreed to!"

He described it as "the most painful thing ever," explaining that a specialist "scratched his face," then "stabbed it hundreds of times with needles."

The whole process was filmed as part of an episode of Flip Or Flop, so expect to see it in full detail in an upcoming episode. It may seem like a surprising addition, but the show has seen an 18 percent boost in ratings since it started showing more personal glimpses into the couple's lives, post-divorce.
