Ottawa Fire Services received multiple 911 calls reporting fire at an abandoned barn on West Hunt Club Road midway between Moodie Drive and Cedarview Drive.

Fire fighters battled the blaze at the barn which is located in the middle of a field.

Property managers confirmed that the barn only contained hay.

The roof has collapsed and firefighters continued laying hose to protect nearby grass and trees.

The structure was unoccupied. There are no reported injuries at this time.

An Ottawa Fire Investigator has not been requested at this time.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.  West Hunt Club Road is closed in both directions between Moodie Drive and the Highway 416 on/off ramps.
