Indigenous people can use traditional names on passports, other IDs, Ottawa announces

The federal government has announced that it is implementing No. 17 of the 94 calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission by allowing Indigenous people to reclaim traditional names changed by the residential school system and use them on passports and other government identification.
