
VPD officer seriously injured during mask dispute | Vancouver Sun
A Vancouver Police officer suffered a broken leg when he was allegedly assaulted by a man who refused to wear a mask inside the Vancouver Law Courts yesterday.
The officer with the broken leg was taken to hospital for treatment and released yesterday. He could be off duty for several months.
Police are recommending charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, assault on a peace officer, and disarming a peace officer against a 53-year-old man from Vancouver. The man was also issued a $230 violation ticket for failing to wear a mask in an indoor public space.
