Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksei Reznikov confirmed on Monday the arrival in the country of a new armament package from the United States, consisting of four 'HIMARS' multiple missile launcher systems.

Thus, Reznikov launched a message on his social networks where he thanked the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, for their efforts to "strengthen the Ukrainian Army".

"We have proven to be smart operators of this weapon. The sound of the 'HIMARS' barrage has become a great musical hit this summer on the front line," the Ukrainian minister noted.

The U.S. Administration announced in late July a new shipment of arms assistance to Ukraine as part of the war against Russia, now in its sixth month of activity since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered on February 24 the start of the invasion.

According to U.S. National Security Spokesman John Kirby, this new batch, valued at 270 million dollars --about 265 million euros--, includes medium-range missile launching systems and tactical drones.

With this 270 million, Washington raises to 8.2 billion dollars --about 8,030 euros-- the value of the assistance that the White House has sent to Kiev since the outbreak of the war.
