Foreign Affairs Minister comments on release of B.C. man held in prison in Syria

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland says she is delighted and relieved that a British Columbia man is on his way home after spending eight months in prison in Syria. She commented at an event in Calgary Friday, but would not say what Canada might have done to win Kristian Baxter's freedom. Freeland did, however thank the Lebanese government for its help in brokering his release. The Nanaimo man became emotional as he spoke to reporters today in Beirut - saying he didn't think he'd ever be freed.
