Tenille Townes and Dallas Smith big winners at CCMA Awards

Tenille Townes of Grande Prairie, Alta. and Langley, B.C.’s Dallas Smith were the big winners at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Calgary Sunday night. Smith won male artist of the year and the coveted entertainer of the year award, the first time the honour has been given in the past 30 years. It’s considered the CCMA Awards’ highest honour and goes to a solo artist, duo or group who has shown “the greatest competence in all aspects of the field.” Townes took home female artist of the year and single of the year for her song "Somebody’s Daughter." Brett Kissell was named fan’s choice winner.
