Harry Potter star Harry Melling has revealed that he's glad no-one recognises him from the films.

The actor played The Boy Who Lived's mean cousin Dudley Dursley in a number of Potter movies, losing enough weight before the Deathly Hallows that producers considered replacing him before deciding upon a fat suit.

Maintaining that weight loss has resulted in the actor not being recognised from the blockbuster series, and speaking recently, Melling admitted he considers it 'a blessing'.

"I went to drama school when I was 18 and that's kind of where the weight shifted, not for any sort of major need on my side, but it's just something that just happened," he told People.

"And I've done a lot since drama school, went to do lots of theatre. I think one of the blessings of that sort of stage in my life was the fact that I didn't get recognised.

"I had this history of being part of the films, but also I felt like I had the opportunity to sort of cause a new start, which I think is useful."

In recent years, Melling has forged an impressive resume, appearing in TV projects including His Dark Materials, The Queen's Gambit and War of the Worlds.
