Paul McCartney has around 2,000 unfinished songs he's been working on recorded on his phone.

The former Beatle, 76, regularly has moments of musical inspiration, and records each new piece to his mobile phone.

He fears that he now has so many tunes that are works in progress, he'll never get round to finishing them.

"These days the worst thing is your phone, because you can record anything," he tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "So you get a great little idea and you think, 'I will finish that later'. But I have got 2,000 of these 'finish them laters'. I intend to get round to these. But that is going to be at least 2,000 hours."

If he ever does get round to finishing the tracks, they'll add to Paul's incredible musical output, as he released his 17th solo studio album, Egypt Station, late last year. He also released seven with his band Wings, and 12 with The Beatles.
