She's a Sydney-born, New York-based star of film and television.

And Aussie actress Rose Byrne has revealed exactly what she's sick of being asked by her American fans during an interview with fellow ex-pat Laura Brown on her Ladies First podcast.

'People are just fascinated with the Australian outback and the wildlife,' grumbled the Bridesmaids star, 41.

However, the actress clearly found questions about Australia's rugged terrain and 'dangerous animals' irritating given where she was raised.

'It's as foreign to me as it is to them, because I grew up in the city,' Rose explained.

'I'm a city mouse,' she told the InStyle magazine editor-in-chief.
