After Senate Approves Budget, Trump Pledges Passage Of Tax Cuts

On Friday, the United State's President Donald Trump expressed optimism for the passage of a Republican tax cut plan, after the Republican-controlled Senate approved a budget resolution for the 2018 fiscal year. Trump tweeted, "This now allows for the passage of large scale Tax Cuts (and Reform), which will be the biggest in the history of our country!” The proposed tax-cut package would add up to 1.5 trillion dollars to the federal deficit over the next decade in order to pay for the proposed cuts. Democrats continue to stand united in their opposition to the proposed budget bill and are unlikely to support the Republican tax plan, which they argue would benefit the wealthy while also raising taxes for middle-class Americans.
