Following Bob Odenkirk's final season playing Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul, AMC has revealed some first-look photos of the actor in his next TV series, Straight Man.

Based on Richard Russo's novel of the same name, Odenkirk will portray William Henry Devereaux Jr, the unlikely head of an English department in a badly underfunded college.

The images also reveal a first look at The Killing actress Mireille Enos as Lily, the college's vice principal and William's wife, as well as Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street) as their daughter Julie.

While William tries to keep the college afloat, Lily will begin to question her life choices and look into new opportunities, all while trying to provide support for her husband and daughter.

Joining the family trio are Diedrich Bader (Space Force), Sara Amini, Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 911!) and Suzanne Cryer (Silicon Valley), who will all play professors at the college.

Aaron Zelman, who wrote and produced The Killing, and The Office US actor/producer Paul Lieberstein serve as showrunners.

Previously sharing his excitement about joining the comedic-drama, which he will also executive produce, Odenkirk said: "I am thrilled that AMC is embracing the unique scenario and characters in Paul and Aaron's adaptation of Straight Man.

"I have loved the mix of comedy and drama in Better Call Saul, and this is another story with a unique dynamic, and the kind of closely observed character writing and exploration that AMC has become the touchstone for. It's going to be fun to play and watch!"

The actor is certainly keeping busy as he's also set to reunite with his Better Call Saul co-stars Andrew Friedman and Michael Naughton in comedy movie The Making of Jesus Diabetes.

Odenkirk will play the shifty Leo, while Friedman and Naughton will portray reclusive brothers Seymour and Gerry Whitaker, who attempt to produce a movie about diabetes during the era of Jesus.

Straight Man is expected to air on AMC in the US.
