Ahead of the final ever episode of The Big Bang Theory, the series' stars have been getting nostalgic.

In a little featurette video uploaded to the show's official Twitter account, the stars of the hit CBS sitcom picked some of their favourite scenes from across the show's 12 seasons.

Leonard actor Johnny Galecki struggled to pick one particular favourite, stating that they all seem to blend into one, but pointed at Penny saying she loved Leonard for the first time as a "great one to work on", while Simon Helberg, who plays Howard, has fond memories of the pilot episode, when the cast were all super nervous.

"I will always remember just standing outside the door here, just so nervous and so excited," he explained.

Penny actress Kaley Cuoco was a big fan of the guest stars like William Shatner and Wil Wheaton, while Mayim Bialik loved the episode where her character Amy and Sheldon finally had their first kiss.

Jim Parsons agreed that Amy and Sheldon's scenes were among his favourites, while Kunal Nayaar was fond of the emotional moments too.

The group had their last ever table read earlier this week, and it looked like a very emotional affair, with multiple cast members in floods of tears.

With production underway on the final episode, we don't have long to wait at all before the series wraps up for good. If all goes to plan, The Big Bang Theory will end next month.

Director Mark Cendrowski recently opened up about the low-key tone of the series' last episode, admitting that although it is the "end", it won't necessarily feel like that.

The Big Bang Theory's final season airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access in the US. E4 airs the show in the UK.
