Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord hasn't been on our screens since New Year's Day this year, and it's even been suggested that the BBC series won't return until early 2020.

However, the show has now released a short clip, telling fans to "make space" for November 23.

In the video, the TARDIS is seen travelling through space before the words "watch this space" appear.

At this point, we can only speculate about what the show's big reveal will be, but it's worth noting that November 23, 1963 is the date the first ever episode of Doctor Who aired on television.

That may be a tad optimistic, but a full trailer and/or release date announcement at the very least certainly seems likely.

Some fans on Twitter have suggested that the announcement may actually have nothing to do with series 12, but the YouTube version of the video is indeed titled 'Doctor Who series 12'.

Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.
