Donald Glover's comedy drama Atlanta is getting a UK home on the streaming service Disney+ when it releases on February 23.

Earn Marks (Donald Glover) is a broke college dropout who alternates between staying with his on-off girlfriend Vanessa (Zazie Beetz) and his parents – when he sees his cousin Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry) is starting to get some notoriety as an up-and-coming rapper, he becomes his manager as they try to make it in the Atlanta rap scene.

The show has won multiple awards for Glover's brand of humour and how it threads narratives of race, social issues, relationships, poverty and parenthood into a well-crafted vision of comedy and heart.

Atlanta is joining Disney+ as part of Star – a new line of 'mature' content that will be added to the streaming service alongside existing brands Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar and National Geographic.

Both seasons of Atlanta will be available to stream on Disney+ on February 23, with a third and fourth season confirmed for the future.

If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, you can sign up to the streaming service for £5.99 a month or £59.99 for an entire year.

The price of Disney+ is set to increase with the arrival of Star – on February 23 the cost of the streaming service will rise to £7.99 a month, or £79.90 annually.

If you're already a Disney+ subscriber or sign up before February 23, you'll continue to pay the lower price of £5.99 a month until August 22, 2021, then you'll be charged the higher £7.99 price on your next monthly bill.

If you sign up for an annual subscription before February 23, you'll pay £59.99. You won't pay the higher £79.90 price unless you choose to renew in a year's time, so this is the best deal if you want the best value for money.

Another way to get Disney+ is if your mobile network is O2, who offer six months of Disney+ free as part of its selected Extras for upgrading or new customers.

If you don't want to upgrade, you can still add Disney+ to your O2 plan and it'll give you £2 airtime credit as a bonus.

If you would rather own the show digitally, you can purchase the first two seasons on Amazon Prime Video.

If you're in the US, Atlanta is available to watch on the streaming service Hulu and is available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.

Atlanta isn't the only show coming to Disney+ – a number of other shows will be joining the service on February 23 including Lost, Prison Break, 24, The X-Files, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Black-ish and original shows Love, Victor and The Undoing creator's new show Big Sky.

Disney+ is set to double the amount of content it has on the streaming service with the additional shows and movies being added as part of Star, and with expanding original content such as Marvel shows like WandaVision and Star Wars' The Mandalorian, there's no better time to join than right now.

Atlanta will be streaming on Disney+ from February 23 in the UK and is available on Hulu in the US.
