I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Ian Wright has signed up to host a brand new primetime game show for ITV, and it sounds like an incredibly tense way to liven up your evenings.

Moneyball will give contestants the chance to win a life-changing sum of money, but whether they get to safely take that money home or end up leaving with nothing rests entirely on the bounce of a ball.

The contestants will navigate their way through a series of questions, accumulating prize funds for every answer they get right. But as the amount of cash up for grabs rises, so too does the pressure.

The possibility of losing all their winnings will be ever-present and players might want to consider an early exit from the game. But, in a unique twist, they will have to take one final shot to get out – which could see them either head home with their hard-earned cash or forced back into the game...

Former footballer Wright, who took part in the 19th series of I'm a Celebrity in 2019, has revealed his excitement over the show, saying: "Look who's got a brand new game show! From the moment ITV got in touch with the idea, I was hooked and there was no way I could've said no to Moneyball.

"It's exhilarating, fun, dramatic, everything you want from a game show. Even though I know I'll want everyone to win the money and even though I know I'll be in bits when they lose, I can't wait for everyone at home to experience the real drama of Moneyball."

Head of ITV Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe added: "We are delighted to have Ian at the helm of this exciting new format that suits him perfectly. A heart-stopping game show that is full of humour, drama and life-changing moments."

Moneyball is a co-production between Possessed and Potato, both of which are part of ITV Studios.

Possessed Managing Director Glenn Hugill described the show as "smart, fun and thrillingly unpredictable", while Potato Managing Director Michael Kelpie said: "Moneyball is a great game that combines general knowledge and split-second timing for the chance to win life-changing amounts of cash. Hugely compelling, fun to play and Ian Wright is the perfect host."

No details have yet been revealed about when Moneyball will air.

I'm a Celebrity airs on ITV.
