As the comedian prepares to crack up the nation once again with his japes, when is it on and what can we expect from this series?

Here's your need to know on the show:

When is it on?

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show will air on BBC One at 8.20pm on Saturday 7 December. There are six episodes in the series, airing every Saturday.

The Bafta award-winning comedian's Big Show is filmed in front of a live audience at The London Palladium in the heart of the West End.

The show will also see the return of series favourites such as the hilarious Send To All, which will see nervous celebrities handing over their mobile phones to Michael.

More unsuspecting celebrities will be woken up in the middle of the night to play the Midnight Gameshow and there are more amazing surprises for the Unexpected Star as they will get the opportunity to perform live in front of 2,000 people on stage at the Palladium.

What's in store for the first episode?

Liam Payne will perform his new single, Stack it Up, while survival expert Bear Grylls is the Send To All victim.

Garage administrator Lauren is the Unexpected Star of the Show, who thinks she’s going to London on a go-karting trip, but Michael has other plans for her instead.

What does McIntyre say about the new series?

He said: "The Midnight Gameshow also returns this series and I wake up some very familiar faces including the whole of Westlife - one at a time I might add, not all at once. They were on tour and staying on the same floor of a hotel. I woke up Judge Rinder in his home from a very deep sleep and there’s a special Christmassy gameshow to come. They are all hilarious!

"We also have a new feature this series called Big Show’s Big News. This is where members of the public entrust me to deliver big news they are waiting for in their lives, it could be anything from exam results to revealing the gender of a baby, planning permission, job application etc. The person has no idea what the news might be and for some it’s quite a tense moment.

"Another new feature is a very silly game called See It Win It where members of the audience who wear glasses have to identify prizes on the stage without their glasses on."

Who is playing Send To All this series?

Among the brave celebrities handing him their phones this year are Emma Bunton, Harry Redknapp, Sharon Osbourne, Ian Wright and Bear Grylls.

Will there be another karaoke session?

Yes, there's more fun in store. McIntyre revealed: "This series we’ve got Abba-oake with the legendary Bjorn Ulvaeus and Robbie-oake with the one and only Robbie Williams. And as ever, they are hilarious."
