Only Fools and Horses star looks unrecognisable in red outfit as she pays tribute to co-star John Challis

Andrée Bernard has become the latest cast member of Only Fools and Horses to pay tribute to John Challis following his death earlier this year.

The actor, best known for playing car dealer Boycie in the BBC sitcom, died of cancer aged 79 on September 19.

On the beloved show, Andrée played barmaid Nerys, otherwise known as Nervous Nerys.

Taking to Twitter, she paid tribute to John and his dear wife Carol.

She said: "On my birthday, a toast to dear John Challis, and you Carol.

"Thank you for all the #ofah birthday wishes, you lovely lot."

Following her role as The Nag's Head barmaid the actor has carved out a very successful career.

Soap stars will know Andrée as Liz Burton in the popular soap opera Hollyoaks between 2003 and 2007.

The 54-year-old, originally from London, started her glittering career whilst she was a teenager and landed a role on the legendary sketch show The Two Ronnies in 1983.

Just a year later Andrée’s career took another leap as she was cast in one of the leading roles on the television show Sharon and Michelle.

Andrée has also starred in some of Britain's most prolific TV shows including Doctor Who alongside David Tennant and Freema Agyeman in 2007 as Dolly in an episode called The Shakespeare Code.

She has also starred in Holby City (2015-2017), Playing Dead (2018), The Bill playing various roles between 1992-2009, Crossroads (2002), Casualty (1993 and 1997), Taggart (1995) - plus many more.
