Channel 4 recently confirmed that Bake Off fans will be treated to not one, but two hearty servings of the Christmas special later this month for us to enjoy.

Presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding will back, along with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

And now Sandi has given us a little hint as to what we can expect from the festive specials.

"We've just finished the Christmas specials, which is one of the funniest things I've ever been involved in," the host told Digital Spy at the Sky Women in Film and TV Awards in London today (December 1).

"We have Prue doing some acting in it – which is all I will say about it – and it was very good and very funny."

The Great Christmas Bake Off will feature the return of bakers Paul Jagger (aka the bread lion maker), Beca Lyne-Pirkis, Selasi Gbormittah and Val Stones, who will be taking part in the show's yummy yuletide challenges.

And The Great Festive Bake Off will bring back Benjamina Ebuehi, Rob Billington, Rav Bansal and Sandy Docherty, who will be faced with three challenges with a celebratory theme.

Describing the warm reaction she's received since taking over from Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc following the show's move from BBC to Channel 4, Sandi revealed: "I don't look on social media, but people have been lovely in the street.

"People hug me a lot in the supermarket... I have to say Prue and Noel and Paul are three of the nicest people on the planet."

Meanwhile, Sandi hosted the Women in Film and TV Awards this afternoon, which saw Game of Thrones star Gemma Whelan win an award for her role as Karen Matthews in BBC One's The Moorside.

Former Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain picked up an award for presenting The Chronicles of Nadiya.

Women in Film & TV (UK) has supported women in the current furore over sexual abuse, harassment and exploitation in the film and TV industry, and on the subject of inequality, Sandi explained: "Two years ago I founded the Women's Equality Party, because I'm cross already, and I've been cross for some time.

"Is it going to change? I hope it's not a flash in the pan, but something that really takes root. I think there has been an understanding that some of the behaviour in the past is not acceptable.

"We will never know if we get parity on pay I'm afraid, but at least it's being talked about.

"I'd love to say I was shocked by what was happening, but I'm not. Women have been speaking about these things amongst themselves for a very long time. I also have to say there's a lot of good guys, and if the whole work industry works together it's not women against men

"Come on it's 2017 people – change the world!"

The Great Christmas Bake Off will air on Channel 4 during the festive season later this month.
