Salmonella and E.Coli risks prompt urgent product recalls by Tesco, Asda and others

Customers who have recently shopped at Tesco and Asda are being urged to avoid eating certain products due to a salmonella and E.Coli risk.

Food can be contaminated with the bacterias at any stage during the production process, the processing of the food itself and while cooking.

Other identified risks include food containing plastic and metal pieces, LincolnshireLive reports.

If you have any of the items mentioned you can return them to the store for a full refund.


Here are the items being recalled:

Vegetarian Butcher Little Willies Lincolnshire Style Sausages

The Vegetarian Butcher is recalling Little Willies Lincolnshire Style Sausages because they may contain pieces of plastic, which makes this product unsafe to eat.

If you have bought the product do not eat it and return it to store for a full refund.

Saint Felicien and Saint Marcellin raw cow's milk cheese

Fromagerie Alpine is recalling Saint Félicien and Saint Marcellin raw cow’s milk cheese because the products might contain E. coli.

These products are sold in Tesco and Harrods.

British Corned Beef

EH Booths is recalling its British Corned Beef (3 slices) because it may contain metal pieces.

This makes it unsafe to eat.

If you have bought the product do not eat it and return it to the store for a full refund.

Asda cereal bars

Asda has recalled its Peanut and Almond cereal bars in addition to its Cranberry and Nut Cereal Bars because the products might contain salmonella.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.
