Since becoming a mother to her daughter Janie, whom she welcomed with husband Joshua Jackson in April 2020, Jodie Turner-Smith has been vocal about the products that have helped her skin - including recently revealing her top hack for beating postpartum acne.

Revealing to Refinery29 that her lockdown self-care routine during the pandemic has mainly consisted of lots of aromatic baths and tea time on her own, the Queen and Slim star says she has also doubled the amount of probiotic supplements she's been taking, which she credits for keeping her post-baby skin at its peak.

'Throughout my life, and even after having the baby, I've struggled with skin issues like acne,' the 34 year-old actress admitted.

Continuing that: 'The best advice I've gotten was to take probiotics.'

According to registered nutritionist Clarissa Lenherr: 'Probiotics are essentially live bacteria that line your digestive tract and support your bodies ability to absorb nutrients and protect against invading pathogens and disease.’

She explains that: 'They are our guts best defence, and help swing overall bacteria balance towards positive, good bacteria. They are renowned for their ability to help improve digestion, boost immune function, reduce inflammation, help prevent age related disease and improve skin health.'

Recently revealing that another skincare secret that's kept her glowing since giving birth is incorporating her own breast milk into her daily routine, Turner-Smith also shared the one product that's been helping her combat her dry skin to Allure. Something that a lot of us will be suffering from at the moment, due to the combination of cold weather and central heating.

'Right now, all of my skin-care products have 'baby' on them. I try not to use anything that's going to irritate my daughter's skin,' she explained to the publication. 'It's important to moisturise, it's the most important thing. California is so dry, and so is my skin after having a baby, so I've just applying Aveeno Baby Balm,' she said.
