U.S. exempts more employers from covering birth control

Under the ACA sometimes referred to as Obamacare, employers are required to provide health insurance that covers birth control to their employees. Religious houses of worship are exempt to this rule. Some private businesses also wanted to be exempt, they sued, and it was ruled by the supreme court that they were able to object on religious grounds. On Friday the U.S government unveiled several steps to broaden the exemption for not only religious reasons but moral as well. By unveiling new “religious liberty” guidelines the trump administration has a more solid route to diminishing the contraception coverage requirements created in the ACA.
