Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has slammed Republicans who have seized the opportunity to flex their array of guns on their annual Christmas cards - pointing out their hypocrisy.

Most recently, controversial Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert posted a photo of her and her four children posing in front of a Christmas tree, each of them holding a gun of some kind.

(Because apparently the true meaning of Christmas is gifting your young kids with deadly guns).

In her tweet, Boebert wrote: “The Boeberts have your six, @RepThomasMassie! (No spare ammo for you, though)”

In response to this photo, AOC has called out Republicans for being hypocritical, noting how they say the meaning of Christmas is being erased “when they’re doing that fine all on their own.”

In a tweet to her 12.8m followers, she quoted tweeted Republican Ron Filipkowski who shared Boebert’s Christmas family photo, and she asked how on earth the birth of Christ has anything to do with guns - since it wasn’t exactly in his teachings.

She wrote: “Tell me again where Christ said “use the commemoration of my birth to flex violent weapons for personal political gain?

“lol @ all the years Republicans spent on cultural hysteria of society ‘erasing Christmas and it’s meaning’ when they’re doing that fine all on their own.”

But AOC wasn’t done just yet, and in a follow-up tweet joked about how those posing with guns in front of their Christmas tree can name the weapons but “can’t name the gifts of the Wise Men.”

Though Boebert was quick to respond to AOC’s criticism and wrote: “@AOC uses her position as a Congresswoman to attack my boys with their Christmas presents. Not a good look, Sandy…”

In her original tweet, Boebert mentioned fellow Republican Rep. Thomas Massie who similarly posted a bizarre family Christmas photo where everyone also modelled various guns - resembling an M60 machine gun, AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and a Thompson submachine gun in front of a Christmas tree.

He received backlash after posting the photo just days after a school shooting killed four students in Michigan.
