A woman is giving away a coffin after "her husband lived longer than she hoped". The pair were at a garden party when Margeret Stables purchased the 7.5ft coffin for her hubby.

He was annoying her during lockdown drinks so made the drunken purchase. However, now he's still breathing - she wants to give it away.

Margaret placed the advert on Facebook with a picture showing a silver coffin with a white pillow inside on Monday. However, the pillow is not for sale because their dog loves it so much.

Margaret put on the post: "Giving away a brand new coffin. Bought it for my husband but he has lived longer than I had hoped and expected so no longer required and it’s cluttering up my house. Pillow not included as my dog has taken to it. I am in Easdale but can deliver within reason."

One person joked: "Does it fit any husband?" while another tagged her partner and said: "Early Christmas present for you babe?"

A third added : "I bought one of these last year as a birthday pressie for the mother-in-law. She didn't use it - so she's getting bugger all this year!"

Many others were left scratching their heads as to whether the listing was for real - but Margaret confirmed it is a genuine advert.

Margaret said: "I bought it in lockdown for a laugh cause we were out at a friends garden party one night. We’d both had a few too many to drink and he was annoying me, so I thought it’d be a laugh to buy this for him."
