The ladies of the are usually seen in high heels, but on occasion, they have swapped stilettos for trainers. Both and are fans of the eco-friendly footwear company Veja, but their choices in styles are very different.

Since 2005, VEJA has been creating sneakers differently, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials.

The brand uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials conceived in recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester.

All the trainers are produced in high-standard factories in Brazil.

In 2018, Meghan wore a pair of black and white Veja trainers for day two of the Invictus Games in Sydney.

She and Prince Harry were pictured taking to the water on a speed boat, and the Duchess paired the trainers with black jeans, a black polo neck and an Invictus Games jacket.

The specific style of trainer Meghan wore was the V-10 Lace Up Sneakers.

These are a popular style and are described as "simple yet sporty" featuring "white leather uppers, leather panels, logo V made of rubber, lace-up fastening, perforated front feature and rubber sole".

The style is still available to buy, with Office currently selling them for £130.

Kate, on the other hand, prefers the Esplar Trainers and was seen wearing them several times in 2021.

The Duchess wore the gold and white pair of trainers during a trip to Scotland where she and Prince William visited the University of St Andrews in Fife - the place where they first met 20 years ago.

The royal nailed the smart-casual look by wearing a pair of straight navy trousers, a striped jumper from Erdem, with a Holland Cooper jacket over the top, and a pair of Veja trainers.

A couple of months later, Kate wore the trainers again when visiting the Natural History Museum in London.

Her outfit on the day was a little more casual; she paired the gold V on the trainer with a peach blazer, white t-shirt and blue cropped jeans.

She then repeated this outfit sometime this summer when she photographed Camilla, Queen Consort for the cover of Country Life's magazine.

The Esplar Metallic-Trimmed Leather Sneakers are "assembled from smooth white leather with gold detailing and organic cotton laces".

They are available to buy direct for £110.

Kate's trainer collection consists of big brands and high street styles.

Another favourite of hers is the Superga 2750 Cotu Classic Canvas - she has a pair in both white and green.

She has also been seen wearing Marks and Spencers Ribbon Trainers in white and green, alongside running shoes by Nike, New Balance and Asics.

Meghan, on the other hand, prefers well-known brands or designer styles; she has worn three pairs of trainers by Adidas, and three pairs by Nike.

Two times she stepped out in a pair of Reebok classic trainers, and the same amount of times for two different pairs of Stella McCartney X Adidas sneakers.
