Mum transforms old cabinets into stylish end tables
A mum has performed an incredible up-cycle on two worn out cabinets and transformed them into chic, Hamptons-inspired tables.
Tanya, from Sydney's Central Coast, created an intricate 'herringbone effect' using old blinds leading to an impressive end result.
Tanya revealed that she coated the old cabinets with Pureco Silk Paint, in the shade 'Calico' to give them an immediate freshen up.
She also coated the wooden top with a Pureco stain and glaze in the shades 'Carob' and 'Whisper' to create the 'boho' look she was going for.
The Central Coast mum cleverly used old timber Venetian blinds and cut them up to create modern herringbone drawers.
'Honestly, the only appropriate use for venetian blinds,' a woman jokingly said.
The mum stained and sanded the wooden top and blind slats to achieve the same colour tone for both of the timber elements.

Tanya also shared that she bought the drawer handles from Ebay to match the aesthetic of her DIY project.
The mum has received a flood of comments and reactions toward her revamped tables as many say Tanya's design and innovative use of materials has inspired them.
'Love it! I've got some left over venetian blinds and didn't want to throw them out. You've given me inspiration! Thank you,' a woman said.
'No way! What an amazing job you did! They are so beautiful,' a user commented.
'Wow! How good does that look! Wishing I kept my own timber blinds now,' another said.
