The troubled TV presenter is reported to be paying his ex-wife 's legal fees in a bid to speed up the process.

Ant, who will sit out of the forthcoming series of I'm A Celebrity, is said to have also footed the bill for Lisa's recent holiday to Los Angeles.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source shared: "Ant is paying for all of Lisa's legal fees.

"He is still helping her financially with other expenses, like when she went on holiday to LA.

"It is amicable and things are moving forward.

"Ant wants it done as quickly and fairly as possible, so they can move on with their lives."

The insider added that the Geordie star hoped to have everything sorted in "weeks rather than months".

After a source told The Sun , “He’s had a tough time of it, but Anne-Marie has put a smile back on his face again. She has been his rock."

"Ant McPartlin’s parting shot at his ex-wife, that he’s 'happier than ever' with his new partner, is going to sting," she explains.

"This is a rejection of his ex and it’s also a rejection of the relationship .

"After 23 years together, that’s a pretty grim to way to sum things up. No question about it, Ms. Armstrong is going to hurt from that kind of zinger."

However, she believes the comments could actually help Lisa move on with her own life after they were granted a decree nisi on the grounds of his adultery earlier this month.

April continued, "On the other hand… someone who can be that cruel, is not a partner you’d want to hold onto.

"In fact, when people leave each other with venom, it’s a lot easier to move on than if they leave with kindness.

"With any luck, Ms. Armstrong can process the rejection and remember that it’s no good to stay with someone who doesn’t want to be with you.

"Rejection is hurtful, but it’s also a gift. If you see it that way, then you can turn away from the rejection and look towards a future that will be bright, with distance from the ex."
