Police smashed a cannabis factory and seized 50 plants worth thousands of pounds.

The raid took place in Park Road, Handsworth, on Thursday morning.

Officers from Soho Road police and West Midlands Police's cannabis team took part, with support from British Gas.

Soho Road Police tweeted: "Another cannabis factory found. We are working with @BritishGas & @CannabisTeamWMP to clear the plants and make the premises safe and secure. If this is your cannabis please call 101 and quote log 524 of the 25/07/2018."

It's the latest big-money cannabis bust in Birmingham.

Officers raided a huge cannabis farm close to Gravelly Hill railway station on Thursday, July 18.

Dramatic images showed the scale of the operation, with multiple plants hanging from the ceiling.

Cannabis plants with a street value of £120,000 were also seized when police raided a property in Erdington last month.

Officers from Tyburn and Kingstanding took part in the raid at a property in Erdington Hall Road after executing a warrant.

West Midlands Police said more than 200 plants with a street value of £120,000 were seized by officers who stormed the premises.
