Solihull is one of the most desirable postcodes in the West Midlands and has some of the poshest houses in the region.

As well as being an ideal place to bring up a family, it is also where Brummies are most likely to move if they ever won the lottery but wanted to stay close to their roots.

Nestling in quaint villages, or in Solihull itself, there are some truly breathtaking homes on sale right now.

But to afford them you need very deep pockets indeed. Here are four of the most expensive houses for sale in Solihull right now.

Start doing the lottery!

Alderbrook Road, Solihull - £2 million

If you have £2 million to spend, this stunning five bedroom home could be yours.

Situated in a quiet private cul-de-sac where there are just four executive detached homes, it's hidden behind a private gated entrance.

There are four reception rooms, a luxury open plan family kitchen and breakfast room, a massive and well-equipped games room and a spacious air conditioned gym.

Upstairs are five bedrooms - including the master bedroom suite which has its own large balcony and a large wet room.

There are four other bedrooms - two with dressing rooms - and three further bathrooms.

Outside the grounds and gardens measure two thirds of an acre, and there's a tropical-themed bar and giant hot tub.

The property also comes with a separate annex with its own entrance.

On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen and family room, a family lounge area with feature fireplace and sliding patio doors onto the garden, a dining room, a second reception, shower room and toilet, a double garage and utility.

The glass and satin steel staircase rises to the first floor gallery landing, leading to three bedrooms all with en-suite, a games room and a home office.

The second floor has three further bedrooms with en-suite and walk in wardrobes, a cinema room and a large store room.

Outside is a back garden, which at the moment is just a blank canvas lawn.
