A luxury duplex apartment has gone on the market in a Grade II-listed former priory in south Liverpool.

Allerton Priory dates back to the early 1800s and is tucked away down a leafy road known as Ye Priory Court. The apartment spans more than 2,000 sq ft and is on the market with Homesure for £580,000. It boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Inside, the current owners have seamlessly blended the apartment's period features with colourful, modern décor. With 14ft high decorative ceilings and massive windows, the lounge is a bright and airy room with ample space for sofas and a dining area.

The décor is largely neutral with grey and off-whites, with teal furniture adding a splash of colour and a statement fireplace adding a sense of elegance. The kitchen has been designed in a similar vein, with vibrant accessories bringing the mahogany cabinets to life. Natural light also plays a huge part in this room, illuminating the ornate coving.

The first of the bedrooms is also on the ground floor, with steps leading up to an en-suite bathroom. Elsewhere, there is storage space and a WC. Further bedrooms are located on the lower ground floor, along with another bathroom and a small study. The apartment also boasts an allocated parking space and access to the stunning grounds.

According to Rightmove, three apartments sold at Ye Priory Court in 2022, fetching between £360,000 and £440,000. Allerton Priory was initially built as a home for a wealthy merchant and was known as Allerton Lodge. It was run by nuns until the 1980s before becoming a care home and eventually being turned into apartments.
