California alarmed as Covid-19 infections and hospitalisations skyrocket after Thanksgiving
The Covid-19 pandemic is getting worse in the United States, as the country broke its own record for deaths and hospitalisations, with 3,000 people dying in the past 24 hours. 100,000 Americans are now hospitalised due to a coronavirus infection. While the US is now counting on the vaccine to tackle infections, the situation is particularly bad in California, where its biggest city, Los Angeles, could run out of hospital beds by Christmas.
