A long weekend in the very centre of Capri is the ultimate glamorous mini break...

Where is it? In the wonderfully glamorous via Camerelle, a five-minute stroll from the Piazzetta which is the very heart of Capri. Overlooking a pretty courtyard and glamorous boutiques, it is a hidden gem.

Design detail: Simple and sophisticated glamour is the running theme throughout the property. The colourful floor and wall tiles are the stand out feature in the hallway and guestrooms. Floral prints add to the old school charm of la dolce vita that echoes throughout the hotel.

Crisp whites contrast with the rustic feel of the cobbled outdoor walls. A courtyard pool and dining space nestled in between Capri’s famous lemon trees is a beautiful retreat. Mediterranean magic.

Which room? The rooms are well-sized for two people. Ideally, opt for one with a sea view as you cannot beat opening the curtains in the morning to be greeted by that azure sparkle.

On the menu: breakfast is served in typical Neapolitan style so prepare yourself for pastries and cakes. Dine al fresco or cool off inside. The poolside restaurant is also popular for lunch.

Facilities:a hot tub is available on site and massages can be reserved. If you feel like more exercise you can go for a game of tennis at a nearby hotel of the same ownership.

Best for: a long glamorous weekend in the heart of Capri.

According to their findings, more than half of global travellers (53%) plan to take more weekend trips in 2019. It is a year that is predicted to be all about made-to-measure, bite sized travel with curated travel itineraries squeezed into shorter time frames. With just a two and a half hour flight to Naples and a short ferry to the island, Capri is an ideal place for a weekend packed with fabulous food and culture.

Anything else I should know? At its peak Capri gets super busy so we would recommend booking into restaurants in advance. Hotel Syrene is ideally positioned for most.
