A man from Crewe has been called up to England's 'Second Squad' as Harry Kane's 'double'. Tom Darby, 31, has been cast as striker 'Harold Kone' in a Specsavers' squad of 'look-a-likes'.

Equivalents were found for stars of both the England and Wales teams - and Tom joins seven other famous England team 'doppelgangers' for an ad campaign that has seen his face plastered onto billboards all over the country.

Tom, a keen football fan, says he only realised his resemblance to England's captain four years ago. He said: "For me, it was the last World Cup actually.

"I started getting loads of people coming up to me saying 'are you Harry Kane?', and people double-taking all the time. Since then, cases of mistaken identity have become a regular occurrance for Tom.

He said: "I do similar work to him in schools with kids and stuff so, the kids love it. You walk in and they’re all over it so you just have to go along with it."

As well as the billboard campaign, the 'look-alikes' have come together on social media to cheer the real squad on. The 'doppelgangers' completing the line-up are Larry McChoir, Saleem Swirling, Jock Grilledfish, Jordy Pitchfork, Buck Soka, and Jordy Brendanson, led by their manager, Gary Northfence.
