DUP want to deal with 'toxicity' of backstop
The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party has spoken of the "toxicity" of the backstop in Theresa May's current Withdrawal Agreement with the EU. Arlene Foster said, "we need to deal with that issue and we need to deal with it in a very clear way for the European Union". The DUP's votes were crucial in the government's defeat of the no-confidence vote in Parliament on Wednesday evening.
