France sees growing divide over irrigation reservoirs
This weekend's clashes between police and protesters in the small French town of Sainte-Soline reflect growing anger over water reservoirs that are meant to help farmers to irrigate their crops in times of drought. But farmers who do not use reservoirs and environmentalists say the reservoirs will simply worsen water shortages. FRANCE 24's Science Editor Shirli Sitbon takes a look at the alternatives.
