Parliament is prorogued for five days

Parliament has begun a five-day suspension, meaning the House of Commons and House of Lords will not sit. A new parliamentary session will begin on Monday when a Queen's Speech opens proceedings. This comes two weeks after the UK Supreme Court ruled that the previous attempt at prorogation was unlawful.
