Queen Elizabeth II won't reportedly receive salute at Trooping the Colour ceremony
For the first time in her 70-year-reign, Queen Elizabeth II will not receive the salute at the Trooping the Colour ceremony, insiders report. The Sunday Times reports that Prince Charles, Prince William, and Princess Anne take her place and receive the salute instead. Trooping the Colour is a ceremony to celebrate the Queen's official birthday on 2 June. The event is reportedly being modified so she can still attend a part of it comfortably. The publication reports that the monarch is likely to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the end of the ceremony with the rest of the royal family.
