Rare tree kangaroo is born at Chester Zoo for the first time
A rare Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo joey has emerged from its mum’s pouch at Chester Zoo. Conservationists caught the moment on camera as the tiny joey peeked out from Kitawa’s pouch. The birth has been hailed as a “real celebration” for the conservation breeding programme which is working to protect the highly threatened species from extinction.
