Sunak accused of weakness as Mone fights to clear her name over PPE allegations
Rishi Sunak faced accusations of weakness over his failure to withdraw the Tory whip from Baroness Michelle Mone over allegations around a firm awarded contracts for personal protective equipment (PPE) during the coronavirus pandemic. Lady Mone intends to take a leave of absence from the House of Lords to “clear her name” over the allegations “unjustly” levelled against her. But Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner said the Prime Minister should have acted against the high-profile peer over her alleged links to a firm awarded lucrative PPE deals.
