Ravaged by first wave, Bergamo now an exemplar for handling coronavirus
Bergamo, in northeast Italy, was ravaged during the first wave of coronavirus, with 6000 people killed over two months. Since adopting stringent public health measures, the city has fared much better during the autumn second wave. Now, people all over Italy are seeking out Bergamo’s doctors for their expertise in dealing with the disease.
