Fiji will finally make their Autumn Nations Cup debut four weeks later than planned as they take on Georgia in the seventh-placed play-off, having been left to rue what could have been after a disastrous three weeks in quarantine.

An outbreak of Covid-19 cases within the Fiji camp resulted in their three group games against France, Italy and Scotland being cancelled and awarded in their opponents favour, with the squad forced to remain in their training base in France while the tournament continued without them.

However, a fresh round of coronavirus testing returned negative results to allow Fiji to open their account against winless Georgia, who last week started to show signs of their true selves as they pushed Ireland all the way in Dublin.

It will be the fifth contest between the two sides, with Fiji holding the superior record of three wins to Georgia’s one, but the Autumn Nations Cup will help to provide a platform for them to showcase their talents and push their case for Six Nations and Tri Nations inclusion in the near future.

Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s match.
