West Brom boss Steve Bruce has made ten changes to his Albion starting XI for the visit of Sheffield United in the first round of the EFL Cup - and that includes starting Reyes Cleary and Okay Yokuslu.

Dara O'Shea is the only survivor of the XI which started the game on Monday night in the 1-1 draw with Watford at The Hawthorns, and he is joined by Kyle Bartley in the heart of defence. Taylor Gardner-Hickman and fellow academy product Zac Ashworth will operate at full-back.

In midfield Yokuslu is joined by Alex Mowatt, who has been the subject of transfer speculation recently. The same can be said for Callum Robinson, but he makes his first appearance of the season in behind Cleary, who leads the line.

Matt Phillips and Adam Reach will play wide. Cleary scored twice on Monday for the club's under 23s as they came from behind to beat Newcastle United 2-1 having still been trailing in the game in the 87th minute.

The bench named by Bruce is a strong one - Semi Ajayi, Conor Townsend, Karlan Grant, Jayson Molumby, Jed Wallace and John Swift are all included, along with rookie keeper Ted Cann and young Ethan Ingram.

West Brom: Palmer; Gardner-Hickman, O'Shea, Bartley, Ashworth; Yokuslu, Mowatt, Phillips, Robinson, Reach; Cleary

Subs: Cann, Ingram, Ajayi, Townsend, Molumby, Wallace, Swift, Fellows, Grant
